Irish Session at the Oasis, Sequim WA

A session (sesiún in Gaelic) is a gathering of Irish traditional musicians for the purpose of celebrating their common interest in the music by playing it together in a relaxed, informal setting... as an elaborate excuse for getting out of the house and spending an evening with friends over a few pints of beer.
- Barry Foy, Field Guide to the Irish Session
Welcome! We're a group of musicians playing Irish traditional music, who gather at the Oasis Sports Bar in Sequim WA, the first and third Tuesday of each month for fun and fiddle tunes.
This is an open session, meaning all players are welcome. We want to especially encourage players of melody instruments -- flutes, fiddles, concertina, etc. -- to join in. Our goal is to be an intermediate-level session for advancing players who are beyond the beginner stages, and not quite up to blazing tempos of a high-end session.
Your session hosts are Therese Rubenstein and Mike Barrs. For any questions please email us at oasis@ptjams.com.
Please take a minute to look over our sample tune list (not guaranteed that we'll play these specific tunes, but it's a start!), and some thoughts on session etiquette for those not familiar with Irish traditional sessions.
